Power Distribution Units (PDUs) are critical components for managing electrical distribution and monitoring energy consumption within your data center. In Freshservice, tracking PDUs allows you to map the complete power chain from the source down to the individual device level, ensuring redundancy and preventing overloads.

Access PDUs

To manage your power infrastructure, go to IT Asset Management > Inventory, which provides access to the following sections:

• Power Units: Contains tools for managing individual power distribution units, tracking their physical locations, and monitoring real-time power utilization.

• Power Unit Models: Contains templates for defining the physical dimensions, electrical specifications, and port configurations for specific PDU hardware types.
