New Chart types
We’ve introduced four new chart types to Analytics (see attachment). They are:
Bubble chart
Heatmap chart
Pie chart and
Area chart
Empty Widgets
You can now create a report from scratch, using an empty widget!
Previously, you had to start with a widget from the Analytics library and customize it to your requirements. But now, you can start fresh with an empty widget. (see attachment)
How does it work?
When you want to create a new report, you can choose whether to start from scratch with a 'Chart', work with charts that you (or your teammates) [we call this 'Existing' now] have already created, or use a chart template (what used to be widgets)
When you create charts from scratch, you have the ability to choose the module that you want to operate on before you choose metrics and filters.
You can style charts by adding backgrounds and borders. You can choose to style the chart from the report screen, or while customizing the widget.
Text formatting and styling for Reports
You can also add text to your reports if you wish to add an explanation. (see attachment)
How does it work?
You can add text to a report. When adding text, you can choose font, size, color, formatting, background, border, and everything else that you usually utilize when you're working with text. (see attachment)
You can also create templates of text and save them for future use. To do this, check the 'Show in Existing gallery' option in the 'Styling' screen when adding text to a report. The text template will be made available in the 'Existing' section for everyone to use.
