Create and associate a project or a project task to a ticket or change easily with a workflow automator. 


Freshservice has a strong workflow automator that can speed progress across tasks and projects to help you save time and increase efficiency. We value agent’s productivity and help them not spend too much time doing repetitive tasks. 


With the project management module in Freshservice, you can easily create a new project or associate an existing project to a ticket or a change. Here is an easy step-by-step guide for the same. 


Note: You will have to have admin privileges to enable this feature


Please be informed that you will have to make changes in the workflow automator in Freshservice for this to work.


Step 1: Go to Admin settings in Freshservice > choose ‘Workflow Automator’ (under Automation & Productivity) 



Step 2:  Create a new automator(1) for Change(2)


Step 3 : Name the workflow as ‘Create projects for major changes’


Step 3: Name the workflow as 'Create projects for Major Changes'

Step 4: You can create a project automatically by setting it up as an "Action" as soon as change is approved and type is major




Step 5 : You can perform this action for either “Change” or “Ticket” ( Ticket includes service requests & Incidents)(1) You can also select a template (2), add a title (3), choose the type of project(4) and fill in the relevant details




Step 6 : Your project is now created

 


Similar to this, you can also create and associate a project task to a ticket or a change in Freshservice project management. Here are the steps to do the same, this example is for creating an employee onboarding project


Step 1 : Go to Admin setting in Freshservice(1) > select ‘New Automator’ (2) choose ‘Ticket’ (3)




Step 2:  Save it as create an employee onboarding project 


Step 3: You can create and associate a project task automatically by setting it up as an “Action” when the service is approved and the category is new employee onboarding matches the condition




Step 4: You can perform this action for either “Change” or “Ticket” ( Ticket includes service requests & Incidents)(1) You can also choose a project , add a task title and fill in the relevant details.



Step 5 : Your project task is now ready to use!
