You can automatically fetch and display asset information in generated documents using the asset information fields in document templates. This allows you to keep track of assigned and returned assets easily, ensuring accountability and proper care of resources. With this capability, you can simplify asset allocation and recovery while staying compliant with legal and financial rules.


Here is how to leverage the assets information in a document template, say, an assets acknowledgment form. 


  • Go to Workspace Settings -> Service Request Management ->  Document Templates and eSignatures



  • Click on the New Template button to create a new document template.

  • Upload a template document with a placeholder element that maps to the list of assets. 


  • From the service catalog item settings, start the process of mapping the placeholder element to the asset fields. Click on the Select field option to initiate the mapping process. 



  • Click on the Requested For -> Assets -> Assigned Assets 



  • Add the asset fields that you want to map to the placeholder element. You can select up to a maximum of 4 asset fields.



  • Click on Save to save the mapping. 



Here is how the asset information will be displayed in a tabular format when the document is generated.
