Effective 12:00 AM PDT, April 30, 2015, Freshservice will discontinue support of SSLv3 (Secure Socket Layer) for securing connections. Our platform provider is deprecating SSLv3 in favor of TLS (Transport Layer Security) for network security.

Why the switch?

In order to safeguard data saved on your account.

Security research published late last year demonstrated that SSLv3 contained a vulnerability that weakened its ability to protect and secure communications. This has been addressed in the replacement for SSL, TLS.

What does this change mean for your Freshservice account?

You web browser will need to use TLS to access files (like attachments, profile images and icons) uploaded to your account.

What you need to do?

Upgrade your browser to the latest version.

All major browser vendors have been disabling support for SSLv3 and their work is almost complete. Older versions might still use SSLv3 for communication which might cause problems viewing the files.

We will continue to ensure that your Freshservice data stays secured. Please feel free to contact us in case you have questions about this change.
