1. Addition vs. updated vs. deletion in config sets: While addition and updation to config sets can be done from source to target, any deleted items in config sets or completely deleted config sets cannot be synced from source to target instances.

2. Non-heavy config sets: A good practice is to keep config sets as light as possible, so that sync happens faster and the overall sandboxing experience is seamless.

3. Sync permitted configs: Include only those configurations that you have permission to work with so that no complications arise in the future.
4. Workarounds for non-permitted items: If you’re a local admin and need to sync a global configuration, reach out to the relevant global admin who has the necessary permissions and get the global configuration synced.
