Software License Management (SLM) in Freshservice allows you to create and maintain a comprehensive, accurate profile of software deployed across all Windows and Linux machine instances within your IT infrastructure. By centralizing this data, you can track compliance, manage renewals, and identify unauthorized installations.
Access software resources
To manage your software inventory and compliance data, go to IT asset management > Software, which provides access to the following sections:
Software: Contains subsections for managing software models, tracking active installations, monitoring lifecycle dates (EOL/EOS), and defining license models.
Operating Systems: Contains subsections specifically for operating system models, installation tracking, lifecycle management, and OS-specific license models.
Discover software
To populate your software inventory automatically, you must enable software scanning within your autodiscovery jobs. To enable software scanning, follow these steps:
Go to your existing discovery job or create a new one.
Select the Discover Software option.
