Once you discover all your applications using identity provider integrations you will have to
Classify the discovered software into apps you wish to actively manage, restrict or ignore
Assign owners to ensure that the apps are managed right
Create licenses for all discovered applications to track contracted spend and renewals
Classifying Discovered Software:
Click on Assets > Software from the side navigation menu.
On the Software list page, click on the Insights button on the top right of the screen
Click on the Insight card for Discovered Software.
You will be redirected to the classify software page. Here you can see all the SaaS Applications that you discovered using identity management integrations (Apps from the direct integrations are automatically classified as Managed)
Choose a status to define how the application should be classified within Freshservice. You can choose one of the following statuses:
Assigning Owners
On the Software list page, click on the Insights button on the top right of the screen.
Click on the insight card for No Owners.
Assign owners to your applications using the Managed by field to manage ownership.
You can double click on any discovered application to further edit their other properties.
Creating Licenses
On the Software list page, click on the Insights button on the top right of the screen.
Click on the insight card for No Licenses.
Now, click on an application and navigate to the licenses tab to create your licenses. Creating licenses helps you to track usage and renewals better using our insights feature.
You can also set up auto-renewals for your licenses.
