This article provides information on the implementation of day-based proration for subscription changes.
What is day-based proration
When you make changes to your subscription in the middle of a term, such as an upgrade, the price is adjusted to reflect the change. To ensure you're billed correctly, we calculate prorated charges or credits. With this update, the smallest unit of time we'll use for these calculations is a single day.
How it works
Previously, subscription terms could start and end at any time of day. Now, all terms (including trials and renewals) will be standardized to whole days.
A term will begin at the start of the day, 00:00:00 hrs.
A term will end at 23:59:59 on the day before the renewal date.
Here’s an example for a monthly plan that started on 14 September, 2025, and renews on 14 October, 2025.
Important information
No impact on plan: This proration change does not affect your actual subscription plan in any way.
Effective date: This new day-based proration will apply to all subscription changes (such as, renewals and license upgrades) from November 2025.
