Freshservice integration with the JumpCloud for Freshservice app enables IT teams to automate synchronisation of users from JumpCloud to Freshservice to match organisational hierarchies, whenever new user accounts are created, and existing user accounts are updated or deactivated.


The JumpCloud for Freshservice app integration:

  • Enables synchronisation of relevant employee attributes, such as department, manager, and so on to enhance identity management.

  • Enables configuration of the required synchronisation settings and field mapping.


Prerequisites for integration

Ensure you have the following, as part of the prerequisites for integration:

  • An active JumpCloud account.

  • Account administrator privileges within Freshservice to initiate the integration.


Install the app

To install the JumpCloud for Freshservice app:


  1. Log in to your Freshservice account.

  2. Go to Admin > Automation & Productivity > Extensibility > Apps.

  3. Or, click the Marketplace Apps icon on the top-right corner, and select Marketplace Apps.

  4. Search and select the JumpCloud for Freshservice app using the Search apps option.

  5. Click Install on the installation page. The Configuration page opens.

  6. In the Authentication section, validate your Freshservice and JumpCloud credentials in the respective tabs.

  7. On the Connect Freshservice tab, the Domain URL and API key fields are auto-populated. Click Next.


Note: Ensure that your Freshservice API key is enabled before initiating the installation.



  1. On the Connect JumpCloud tab, enter the JumpCloud API key. Then, click Next.



  1. In the Sync settings section, configure the required sync settings.

  1. Select a relevant option from the Select users dropdown (All usersAll user groups, or Specific user groups). If you select Specific user groups, then ensure to select the required groups from the Select groups dropdown.

  2. Select the required action for Deleting users.


Note: Creating / Updating users is a default sync action that cannot be modified.


  1. Select the required sync frequency (for example, 24 hours).

  2. Select the users who should receive email notifications on sync failures.


Note: Select the Send sync summary to the above emails checkbox if you want the sync summary sent to the selected recipients.



  1. Click Next.


Note: When required, you can manually initiate a sync with the Sync now option in the sync summary section.


  1. In the Field mapping section, map the Freshservice Secondary Emails field with a relevant JumpCloud field under Basic details. And, map the Freshservice Description field with a relevant JumpCloud field under Additional information.


Note: All other Freshservice and JumpCloud field mappings under Basic details and Additional information are configured by default.



  1. Click Install.
