What’s new?

The portal designer is now available for all customers on Growth, Pro, and Enterprise plans who signed up before November 18th. Your current customizations will be preserved until you publish changes using the new designer.

Where can you find it?

  • Navigate to Admin > Account settings > Service Desk Rebranding.

  • Click on Try no code designer to use the no code designer.
  • For MSP mode: To use no code designer for your child portals, navigate to Admin > Channels > Other channels > Support portals.

Note:

  • You can continue using the above navigation to access the no-code designer until you publish changes using it. Once you publish, the no-code designer will replace your current designer along with all new changes and customizations.

  • Publishing changes using the new designer might result in losing existing customizations. Learn more about the impact.

Impact on existing customization

To understand how you will be impacted, you need to know the portal version that you’re on. Here’s how you can distinguish:

Portal V1
Portal V2

Your customizations are impacted when you publish or reset changes using the no-code designer.

If you are on Portal V1

  1. If you have not made changes to the default Portal V1, you can seamlessly switch to the new designer.

  2. All customizations made to Portal V1 will be lost when you publish the portal with the new designer. It will replace Portal V1, which is currently live to your employees.

Customizations retained: The portal logo and the URL it redirects to.

For MSP customers: Publishing changes on any portal using the no-code designer will replace the parent and child portals with Portal V2 . Customizations will be impacted similar to service desk portals.

If you are on Portal V2

  1. If you have not made changes to the default Portal V2  then you can switch to the new designer seamlessly.

  2. All customizations made to the home page and header on your Portal V2 will be lost when you publish the portal with the new designer. The portal designed using the new designer will replace the live portal.

Changes that are retained:

  • Logo and Linkback URL

  • Colors and fonts - all stylesheet changes

  • Head/footer/ layout changes

Note: Header will not be retained. You can quickly redesign this using the no-code portal designer.

For MSP customers: Publishing changes on any portal using the no-code designer will replace only the portal currently being redesigned with the new changes. Customizations will be impacted similar to service desk portals.

Customizations retained and impact observed

The no-code designer is built to design Portal V2 templates. Therefore, all publish and reset actions will replace Portal V1 with Portal V2.
