With the deprecation of the legacy Reports module and migration of all reports to the Analytics module , you must wonder what will happen to the existing role privileges given in the legacy reports module to all the users.
Worry not, we have got you covered. We will migrate the role privileges from your legacy Reports module to the Analytics module.
Let's look into how the role's privileges were initially in the legacy Reports module and how we are adapting/changing it in the Analytics module.
Here’s a quick rundown of how the View, Edit, and Delete roles work in the (legacy)Custom Reports as well as in the Analytics module:
Instead of the View, Edit and Delete permissions in the legacy reports module, by default in the analytics module users can have a combination of View, Edit and manage permissions.
Note: Currently the permission for the Analytics module is a single check box. We will add more granular permissions to this in the near future.
Below is the description of how users' roles will be migrated from (legacy) Custom Reports to Analytics and what access will be provided to the combination of roles privileges:
Callouts:
Users who have access to only View in legacy Reports module will be able to subscribe to reports but will not be able to schedule it to be delivered into their or others’ inbox
If a user has View and Edit permissions in the legacy Reports module, they will also be able to delete the reports in addition to view, edit and manage schedules in the Analytics module
If the user has just View and Delete permissions in the legacy Reports module, they will just be able to View the reports in the Analytics module. We will not grant them Delete permissions
Note:
To grant or remove any access in the Analytics module which is different from the migrated roles from Reports, admin can assign those permissions by going to Admin > Roles > New Roles. These permissions can be assigned only to the users who have access to the Analytics module.
