About the Integration:
Get visibility of your network infrastructure by piping Auvik alerts into Freshservice. Reduce Alert noise by using the native aggregation capability of the Alert Management System and escalate alerts into incidents based on customizable alert rules.
Configuration in Freshservice:
Step 1:
Head to the Admin panel, scroll to IT Operations Management and select Monitoring Tools.
Step 2:
You are now on the Monitoring Tools list page. Select Add monitoring tool to add a new integration.
Step 3:
You will see a list of pre-configured integrations, the gateway to custom integration using webhooks, and the option to use email as a channel for alerts. Select Auvik.
Step 4:
A URL and auth-Key will be generated. You will require this to set up the Integration in Auvik.
Configuration in Auvik:
- Log into your Auvik account.
- Go to the navigation bar on the left and click on integrations.
- Click on Add Integration> Webhook.
- Configure the following details:
- Provide a name for the Integration
- Paste the URL generated in Step 4 of Freshservice configuration in the URL field
- Click on Test Connection. Upon getting a successful response, the webhook will be registered.
- Click on Save.
- Go to Manage Alerts> Notification Channels using the navigation bar on the left
- Click on Add Notification Channel.
- Configure the following details:
- Provide a name for the notification channel
- Select the contact method as Webhook
- Select the Integration created in Step 4 of the Auvik configuration
- Click on Save.
- Select the notification channel you created in Step 8 from the notification channel list and click on Associate Alert.
- Click the associate checkbox to associate all the existing alerts to the notification channel.
- To create a new alert in Auvik, go to Manage Alerts> Alerts.
- Click on Add Alert> Select the type of Alert you want to create.
- Fill in the details of the Alert. While filling in the notification channel details, choose the "select from existing channels" option and select the notification channel created in Step 8 of Auvik configurations.
Now you should be able to receive an alert in Freshservice every time the alert condition is satisfied in Auvik.
