To address security concerns, you can now restrict attachment file types in Freshservice.
Here’s how you do it:
Go to Admin > Service Desk Security.
Select 'Specific file types only' and enter the file types that you want to allow.
Once you do this, only the specified file types will be allowed as attachments throughout your service desk.
What happens when prohibited file types are attached?
You'll receive error messages for prohibited file types in Freshservice, on both web and mobile platforms. Here are a few examples:
1. In tickets, the following error message is displayed for prohibited file types:
2. When tickets are created from email messages, the email may include a combination of allowed and prohibited file types. However, the resulting ticket will only have the allowed file types. Prohibited file types will be discarded, and the following error message will be displayed:
3. API calls with prohibited file types will be rejected with an HTTP 403 Forbidden error.
