Set up and manage translations for the service catalog and deliver support experiences to your agents and users in the language of their preference. Freshservice offers support for 35 languages. Set up the service catalog in all supported languages and deliver a localized experience to users.

To create and manage translations for the service catalog, add supported languages to the service desk under Service Desk Rebranding. Once added, Freshservice maintains a YAML file that allows you to add translations.

Once a language has been added to Freshservice, you can upload translations for all service catalog items. Here’s how:

  1. Go to Admin Settings > Workspace > Service Catalog and click Manage Translations

This opens a page where all supported languages are listed.

  2. Download the source file. The source file consists of all items on the service catalog.

  3. Make changes to the source file on YAML.

For service categories, the field names are listed as keys. Fill the translated name as values. For service items, a separate translated name field is provided which you can fill.

  4. Click the pencil icon and upload the translated file back to Freshservice.

Once the file is uploaded the translations will take effect.

  5. Go back to Service Catalog and click Preview Translations. Select the language for which you would like to review the translations.

Updating translations

When newer items are added to the service catalog, Freshservice marks the translation files as outdated. To update the translation for newly added service catalog items, download the yml file from Freshservice, update the translation for specific items, and reupload the file. This keeps your file updated.
