Microsoft Teams admins can customize or rebrand app properties based on organizational needs. The following app properties can be customized:

  1. Short name

  2. Short description

  3. Full description

  4. Color icon

  5. Outline icon

  6. Accent Color

Here's how you can customize the Microsoft Teams app:

  1. Sign in to the Teams admin center (https://admin.teams.microsoft.com/)
  2. Go to Teams Apps > Manage apps

  3. Search for Servicebot from the list of applications and click the app's name to view details.
  4. Click the app’s name to view details
  5. Expand the Details section and customize the fields of your choice by adding details.
  6. Next, expand the Icon section. Here, you can upload an icon of your organization to bring it in line with your branding. Bear in mind the following format requirements
    • Icon size: 192x192
    • File format: PNG
    • Choose an icon outline color. Use one transparent outline (32x32) pixel in PNG format.
    • Select an app accent color that matches the icon.
  7. Once your app has been customized, select Apply.
  8. Select Publish to publish the customized app.


The customized app gets listed on your Manage apps page. Users of your organization's Microsoft Teams account can open their Teams client to access the customized app.

A single version app is maintained. No clones are maintained.


Reseting app details to default

To revert app customizations to original settings.

  1. Go to Teams Apps > Manage apps.
  2. Select the app and click Reset to default from the Actions dropdown.

Frequently asked questions

Q: How long will it take for my users to see the customized app?
A: Although the admin can immediately see the changes in Teams Admin Center, it might take up to 24 hours for the end users to see the changes.

Q: Will the app usage report also show the customized values such as customized short name?
No, the app usage report will still show the original name of the app sent from the publisher.
