I think it would be very nice to customize the service catalog page. Currently when you land on the page you just get a dump of every single request-able item. Some users will use the categories but most people will just scroll down the list. There are just way too many items for people to scroll. I believe if we can put the top request-able items on here, maybe top 4, then force people to use the search or categories on the side it'll be a lot nicer.
It's just like any e-commerce site, there is categories and then you can search down. No e-commerce site will dump all their products available into one scrollable page, it just looks ugly.
Yes, this will be very helpful as we have made some customer categories and want our requester group to see only those. Can it be restricted to what the requester group can see?
Agreed 100%. I want to limit the number of initial items you see to 4 or 5 and then give the user the ability to search elsewhere for additional specific items.
Our Use: Employee On-boarding. We have one SR for new employees and have added additional items to it so that child tickets are auto created and assigned to different agents if they need an email address, or a new computer or anything else. But I also want someone to be able to go on and request just an email address or just a new computer even though 9 times out of 10 they'd be requested at the same time.
